Electronic certification making vet clearance for export cargoes brisker
In 2020 Russian veterinary watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor made a further step to encourage export of the nation’s products – launched the eCert component of the "VETis" information system, designed for veterinary certification of supervised goods sent to foreign countries, reports Megafishnet.com.
According to Rosselkhoznadzor, introduction of the new module has reduced the time of registration of veterinary accompanying documentation by means of automating the process and has ensured creation of a single centralized database with information about each batch of goods. Currently, eCert is used in the export of beef and poultry meat to Vietnam and the People's Republic of China.
The expansion of export veterinary certification in electronic form is a priority task for the coming years. Rosselkhoznadzor has been working on the integration of information systems in the field of veterinary control with more than 60 countries around the world.
The introduction of electronic veterinary certification and the use of unified information systems in the field of veterinary medicine is a competitive advantage both when opening new export markets for livestock products and for expanding the range of exported products.
