Completion of the Expert Mission of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ)

Closing meeting upon completion of the mission was held in Moscow. The Russian party was headed by Artyom Daushev, Deputy Head of the Directorate for Veterinary Surveillance of Goods Export-Import and Transportation and for International Cooperation, the Chinese party was headed by Chen Shi Sun, Head of the AQSIQ Department for Beijing, reports www.megafishnet.com with reference to Rosselkhoznadzor.

The mission visit lasted for 10 days. The mission team comprised five experts of the AQSIQ. The mission team visited the following institutions subordinated to the Rosselkhoznadzor: the All-Russian State Centre for Quality and Standardization of Veterinary Drugs and Feed, Bryansk InterOblast Veterinary Laboratory, Federal Centre for Animal Health, Rosselkhoznadzor Territorial Administration for Belgorod Oblast, Belgorod InterOblast Veterinary Laboratory as well as food market, farms and slaughter houses located in the Bryansk and Belgorod Oblasts.

Chen Shi Sun highly appreciated the Russian experts’ professional qualifications, veterinary laboratory equipment at all levels, biosecurity system of poultry farms, slaughter house equipment and capacities. According to the Chinese experts the risk of avian influenza outbreak occurrence is currently minimal in Russia owing to measures taken. The Chinese delegation addressed to the Rosselkhoznadzor with a request to provide additional information to perform as comprehensive assessment as possible. The Chinese experts will prepare the final report for the Rosselkhoznadzor for one month after such information receipt. The Russian party in its turn also highly appreciated the Chinese experts’ competence and openness and expressed the hope that constructive dialogue between the authorities would be continued in all fields of cooperation.
