Big Groups to invest into ambitious infrastructure projects for fishery industry
The Antey Group of Companies (a big crab harvester) has announced its decision to create an investment group "Fish Corporation.RF" together with the North-Western Fishing Consortium (NWFC). The new entity will be engaged in the implementation of infrastructure projects in the fishery industry, reports Megafishnet.com.
According to Fishnews, Arkady Pinchevsky, a representative of the Antey Group, disclosed the plan for the integrated development of fish logistics at a round table on investment quotas organized by the Ministry of Regional Development together with the Corporation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic on the eve of the Eastern Economic Forum.
"We intend to create a network of modern fishing ports connected to each other in Russia in the next three years. These are Murmansk, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Korsakov on Sakhalin and the port on the Nazimov Peninsula in Vladivostok," the representative told the participants of the meeting. This will allow us to effectively use the railway transportation system, and in the future, the Northern Sea Route, and eventually get away from dependence on the Chinese market only."
The project was presented to Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin during his recent visit to the Kuril Islands. It is planned to build refrigeration facilities, terminals for refrigerated containers, organize ship repair, storage of live fish and modern fish markets.
According to the plan, this infrastructure can be used to deliver not only fish, but also any perishable products. "We are already actively cooperating with Russian Railways and private carriers, including Refservice, which accounts for 32% of fish shipments from the Far East. We also plan to create a new fleet of refrigerated containers to ensure the necessary temperature regime and delivery of high-quality fish to the consumer, " Arkady Pinchevsky added.
He stressed that the company is committed to cooperation with all interested market participants. "Together with the North-Western Fishing Consortium (NWFC), we decided to create a joint investment group that will implement all these projects. This will be an investment partnership open to any industry participants who want to work together. It will be called " Corporation Fish.RF", and in fact, as we expect, will eventually become a full-fledged institute for the development of the fisheries complex, to work closely with Vnesheconombank, Rosselkhoznadzor, and other development institutions," said the representative of the Antey Group.
The supervisory board of the new corporation will be headed by the former deputy head of the Ministry of Regional Development Alexander Krutikov, who previously supervised the development of the fishing sector in the Ministry.
