Icelandic fish catches in June 2010
Total catch of Icelandic vessels in June 2010 was 84,941 tonnes compared to 129,036 tonnes in June 2009, reports www.megafishnet.com with reference to Statistics Iceland.
Demersal species accounted for 33 thousand tonnes, thereof cod 9 thousand tonnes, haddock 4 thousand tonnes, saithe 4 thousand tonnes and redfish 2 thousand tonnes. The pelagic catch was 47 thousand tonnes, thereof herring 25 thousand tonnes and mackerel 22 thousand.
At constant prices the volume of the catch decreased by 19.2% in June 2010 compared with June 2009.
