GC Rieber Oils' official opening of its concentrate plant in Kristiansund, Norway.
GC Rieber Oils is entering into an expanded growth phase with the opening of its omega-3 concentrate plant in Kristiansund Norway on Monday the 8th of November 2010, reports www.megafishnet.com with reference to GC Rieber Oils.
The new plant is strategically situated by the ocean and consists of modern facilities with newly developed patented refining technology that will enable it to produce both traditional and ultra high grade omega-3 fish oil. The new plant will also be GMP(Good Manufacturing Practice)/API (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient) certified which will bring new opportunities from the pharmaceutical and medical industries.
"We have used all of our experience as producers of refined fish oils, and applied it into the construction and design of our new concentrate plant. Our goal is to enter into new markets with omega-3 and we believe we will achieve this with our new ultra-high grade 90 % omega-3 fish oil" says ex CEO Arne Alnaes.
The new plant can produce a whole new range of omega-3 products. Normally, in the concentrate market, only products up to 65 - 70 % omega-3 have been available. However, now GC Rieber Oils has developed patented new refining technologies that will enable it to produce an ultra high 90 % omega-3. All products will be offered in either both EE or TG forms as well as variations of the content of EPA and DHA regarding costumer specifications.
"We are very pleased by the interest in our new concentrates range", says Market Director Peter Jan Odegaard. "This is a very exciting era for our customers because now they can have the one partner for their entire fish oil requirements."
There has also been considerable upgrading of quality control and QA with a new modern laboratory with the latest state of the art technology. With the focus on recruiting and training employees, it will continue further advancements in research and development of fish oils.
Over 100 guests including government officials; key customers and staff will take part in the official opening. The day will include a guided tour of the new plant with an overview of the production processes. A seminar will be held into the benefits of fish oil in our diets and modern medicine. There will also be a presentation about the international market development for these exciting products.
In connection with the official opening the recent restructuring of the company's administration will be announced. As of the 1st of November, Alnæs started his new role as Director of Sourcing. From the same date, Jan Roger Bjerkestrand commenced as CEO in GC Rieber Oils AS.
