According to the Ministry of Fisheries’ decision on quota allocations for the new quota year, HB Grandi’s fleet receives a total of 40,125 cod-equivalent tonnes. This represents 10.67% of the total allocation and is a 0.50% lower share than the company held last year. The reason for this share reduction lies in the weight each species has in the cod-equivalent index between years...

Therney RE is now fishing in Russian waters in the Barents Sea and according to this trip’s skipper, Ægir Franzsson, catches were excellent to start with before the fishing dropped away. Last Friday 29.8.2014, agreements for construction of three wetfish trawlers where signed at the office of HB Grandi. The contracts amount is EUR 43.950.000 EUR or close to ISK 6,8 billion. The plan is that the first ship will be delivered in May 2016, the second late in the year 2016 and the third in spring 2017...

Last monday the city of Reykjavík presented the Most successful renovation project award for 2014 at a ceremony at Höfdi House. Mayor Dagur B Eggertsson presented prizes for the best kept grounds around blocks and company premises, for outstanding outdoor facilities and for renovation of older buildings in the city. HB Grandi was among the recipients for the award this year for its work in refurbishing the old herring factory at Grandagardur 20, and the prize was accepted by CEO Vilhjálmur Vilhjálmsson...
