THOUSAND TONNE INCREASE FROM YEAR TO YEAR
The HB Grandi fleet’s herring and mackerel catches this summer total 33,400 tonnes. This is a small increase compared to last summer’s catches when the fleet landed 32,400 tonnes.
The table below illustrates herring and mackerel catches for each segment of the fleet this summer, compared to the 2013 season. As can be seen, herring catches fell by approximately 3000 tonnes, while the mackerel catch increased by 4400 tonnes. The difference lies primarily in increased fishing for the pelagic vessels.
