"Okhotsk" newbuilding crabber conducted factory sea trials

The newbuilding crabber Okhotsk, the first being built in the Russian Far East (builder the Eastern Shipyard in Vladivostok) made two trips on July 30 and 31 for factory sea trials, reports Megafishnet.com.

According to the yard, the main systems of the crabber have already been tested and have shown their full functionality.

The yard says that after several control exits and docking Okhotsk will be fully ready for delivery to the customer.

The Okhotsk has performed well at sea. The customers, representatives of equipment suppliers from Japan, as well as employees of the enterprise note the high characteristics of the vessel being built under the investment quota scheme.

Meanwhile, the Eastern Shipyard is preparing to launch the second vessel of a similar project, named "Ayan". On June 21, it was rolled out from the boathouse to the dock embankment, where the ship's hull was sandblasted, after which the first layer of primer was applied. This month, it is planned to finish painting the hull, load the equipment on the ship and launch the Ayan into the water. The shipyard intends to deliver the second crab boat this year, ahead of the contract deadlines for delivery by at least 5 months.

Okhotsk is being built according to design 03141. The length and width of the vessel are 63.27 and 10.6 meters. The displacement is 1586 tons, the live crab transportation capacity at any one time amounts up to 100 tons.

The technical capabilities of JSC Eastern Shipyard enable a full construction cycle on the vessels up to 120 meters long, 16 meters wide, 25 meters high and with a launching weight of up to 2500 tons (displacement up to 3500 tons).
