Dramatic increase of French oyster export to Russia
In 2007 French export of oysters to Russia more than doubled, lifting Russia into the sixth position as an important market for their product, according to Eurofish.
More specifically, The French export to Russia increased by 100% from 170 tonnes in 2006 to 340 tonnes in 2007. The export value increased by 140% from 930 thousand euro in 2006 to 2 million 230 thousand euro in 2007.
Yet, among the major markets for French oysters, Russia registered the highest unit values in 2007 at ?6.56/kg.
