Northern Shipyard building 14 fishing vessels

At the moment the St.-Petersburg-based  is building 14 fishing vessels with all boats being at different stages of construction, reports Megafishnet.com.

According to Korabel.ru, the fishing fleet began its massive modernization 3 years ago in 2018. The state program of investment fishing quotas for the support of shipbuilding has greatly contributed to the development.

The Northern Shipyard is one of the shipbuilders profiting from the government plan. Currently, the yard is building 10 factory trawlers of 1701 design, as well as 4 longline boats of the MT1112XL project. The vessels will sail in the North Atlantic and in the Russian Far East.

Construction of 4 more vessels will be started soon. Contracts for their building have already been signed.
