New shipyard to be built in Kaliningrad
In 2012 Western Yard will start building a ship yard for construction of fishing and research vessels in the village of Vzmorye, Kaliningrad region. The investments are estimated at RUR 8 billion, reports http://www.megafishnet.com/.
The appropriate industrial land site is in direct vicinity of the marine channel and has minimum necessary infrastructure. The equipment investments are estimated at least at Euro 56 million and construction will cost ca. Euro 150 million. The yard's payback is estimated at 8-10 years. The yard's area will cover 13.8 ha, including 7.5 ha for sheltered workshops. The project workforce is 900 people.
The project provides for construction of a dry dock. Production technology, dock size and equipment will enable the yard to build practically all the vessels from small fishing boats to large transport reefers. The yard's production capacity will amount to ten 60-meter vessels or five 110-meter vessels per year.
