Lead crab catcher-processor delivered to Russian customer by ÖZATA Shipyard Turkey

ÖZATA Shipyard (Yalova, Turkey) delivered to a Russian customer the lead catcher-processor of Project KSP02, designed by Marine Engineering Bureau (MEB), reports Megafishnet.com.

According to MEB, Construction of two more crab catching and processing ships is underway.

The boat delivered on 30 March 2021 and named Arctour was ordered by Russia’s North West Fishing Consortium operating on the North Fisheries. The vessel is intended for catching red king crab and snow crab, its processing, storage and transshipment to reefers in conditions with waves of up to 4 points.

The ship’s particulars are as follows:

LOA – 73.44 m; width – 16.60 m;

depth to main deck – 7.60 m;

deadweight – 2,548 t;

freezing hold capacity -  about 1,750 cubic m;

design speed - 12 knots.

Class KM  AUT1 (REF) BWM(T) TMS Fishing vessel by Russian Maritime Register of Shipping.

Area of operation – Northern fisheries, Barents Sea, Norwegian Sea.

Raw product processing capacity - 30 tons per day for snow crab and 60 tons per day for red king crab. Frozen product capacity - 20 tons per day for snow crab and 40 tons per day for red king crab.

There are special storage facilities for bait, salt and empty containers.  

Accommodation is provided for 40 crew members in comfortable cabins with a common room, medical and sanitary facilities.
