Largest electronic fish auction to be built in Primorye province

A project for the construction of an export-import agro-logistics complex and the creation of a fish exchange on the Nazimov Peninsula near Vladivostok is being implemented by the Eurasian Fish Center LLC with the backing of the federal authorities, reports Megafishnet.com.

According to the province’s government, the project provides for the construction of a 25,000-ton cold store, a specialized port with a total cargo turnover of almost 360,000 tons per year, and the largest auction in the Asia-Pacific region for trade in seafood. The complex is scheduled to be put into operation in early 2022.

Russia’s Federal Agency for Fisheries (FAF) has prepared a new concept for the Far Eastern fish processing Cluster, which includes four interconnected regional divisions – Primorsky, Sakhalin, Kuril and Kamchatka.

The development of the Primorsky Division within the cluster is a key strategic priority, since the Primorsky Territory is the optimal platform for the development of large-scale fish processing, provided that additional refrigeration capacities are created.

According to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, referred to by Konkurent, the "Eurasian Fish Center" LLC belongs to Arkady Pinchevsky, co-owner of LLC "Antey Asset Management". A 50-percent stake in this LLC is controlled by Igor Mikhnov, the son of Ivan Mikhnov, the founder of the famous crab company JSC "Iyanin Kuht".

Last year, LLC "Antey asset Management" bought LLC "Antey Sever" (Murmansk), LLC "TRK" (Nakhodka) and LLC "Alestar" (Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky).

Antey LLC is one of the largest holders of crab quotas in Russia. In 2019, in the North Fisheries the company won half of the ten lots at the crab quota auctions through Antey Sever LLC, paying 18.22 billion rubles for the fishing rights. Two more related companies - LLC "Antey" and LLC " Alestar –  won one lot each in the Russian Far East (at 3.57 billion rubles and 4.44 billion rubles, respectively). As a result, the total volume of crab quotas of the companies has come up to 9 thousand tons.
