One of Kamchatka's biggest fishing companies AKROS will to be restructured soon, reports http://www.megafishnet.com/.

The restructuring process will result into emergence of three new companies. More specifically, in February 2012 AKROS will be broken into AKROS-1, AKROS-2 and AKROS-3. On 6 March 2012 the company's shareholders will meet to discuss the procedure and conditions of the restructuring process.

Established in 1992 AKROS has developed into a company with a powerful fleet, an onshore base with new berths, a coldstore, a freight terminal, a fishing gear production unit and own trade chain. It is one of the largest pollock and cod harvesters in the Russian Far East with the annual pollock quota of more than 50,000 MT.

Last year AKROS's controlling stock was sold to Murmansk-based group Karat. After the purchase deal AKROS started facing a number of changes. One of them was connected with the announced intention of AKROS to enter the Pollock Fishermen's Association.
