Crabber vessel M/V Zenith delivered
The new crabber vessel M/V Zenith departs Istanbul today. The new Skipsteknisk ST-184 AS design was handed over from Tersan to JSC Arcticservice last week, and will now start her journey up to Kirkenes in Norway.
The ST-184 AS is a new design from Skipsteknisk and the vessel will be catching, processing and freezing King Crab and Snow Crab in the Barents Sea, where they have their quotas. Murmansk based owner JSC Arcticservice intends to build a series of vessels of the ST-184 AS design at Krasnoe Sormovo Shipyard in Russia, but the first was now built at Tersan Shipyard in Turkey.
M/V Zenith has main dimensions of 62 x 15m (L x B) and will be operated by a crew of 38 persons, enabling a production capacity of up to 60 tons crabs/24h. Processing plant is delivered by Bjørdal in Norway.
This is actually not the first crab catcher designed by Skipsteknisk, as we also did a crabber catcher design for American Seafoods back in the nineties, but Zenith is the first crabber from our hand specializing in processing and freezing.
