Construction of $23 million fish plant starting in Primorye Territory

Russian Fishery Company (RFC) has completed the preparatory phase to enable start of construction of a state-of-the-art “Russian Pollock” processing factory in the Nadezhdinskaya Advanced Development Territory, according to RFC’s mid-December release.

The first stage of the fish processing plant with the daily capacity of more than 100 tonnes of processed products will be completed by 2021 at the latest.

Russian Pollock is going to increase its capacity by ca.20% after 2021 and expand its product range with ready-to-cook and ready-to-eat products.

Main products of the factory’s first phase will be Alaska pollock fillets and mince. On commissioning the second stage the factory will launch production of value-added products, including ready-to-eat items, for the Russian market, as well as for export to China and Asian markets.

The Russian Pollock project is carried out with an eye on the government program of investment quotas linked to domestic construction of new fishing vessels and processing facilities. Total investments into the project are forecasted to reach 1.5 billion RUR. When the new factory is commissioned Russian Fishery Company will get extra quotas for capture of 14,500 metric tons of Alaska pollock and herring.
