For the first time, Aquaculture Europe conference took place in Portugal, from October 5th until 8th, in the beautiful city of Porto. It represented an excellent platform for exchanging knowledge, latest developments and getting in touch with aquaculture experts and industry representatives.

Organized by the European Aquaculture Society, the conference covered a broad range of interesting topics such as production management, nutrition, health management, welfare and student group workshop. More than 200 oral and 700 poster presentations had an excellent audience and attendance by more than 1.100 registered participants.

BIOMIN proved its commitment to the aquaculture industry by taking over the session sponsorship of the novel feeds, ingredients and additives session. The expertise in the fish nutrition was strengthened by the participation of Pedro ENCARNAÇÃO as chair in this session and by the contribution of two oral presentations.

Katia PEDROSA highlighted mycotoxin related issues in aquaculture and the selection of an effective AFB1-adsorbent using multi criteria evaluation. In the second BIOMIN presentation, Goncalo SANTOS gave an overview on the application of phytogenics in aquaculture nutrition.

BIOMIN received an excellent feedback from the session participants. Furthermore BIOMIN's B.R.A.I.N. program was presented during the EAS student group workshop, which generated great interest from students, professors and researchers.

More than 1.100 participants from all over the world had additional opportunities to get in contact with BIOMIN, both at the booth and at the poster session hall keeping our strong team in permanent contact with aquaculture experts.
