Best Alaska Fish Taco found in Montana - Voting for People's Choice Award Started February 15, 2011
Milliken and Feniger, chefs of the popular Border Grill restaurants in Los Angeles and Las Vegas, as well as the Border Grill Truck, judged the recipes on flavor, originality, and ease of preparation. "What set this recipe apart from the other hundreds was the thought process. We loved how the marinade ingredients were later used as a sauce for the slaw. The Asian flavors were unique, and really worked well with the wild Alaska cod used in the recipe," noted Feniger. Gadsby will serve her winning recipe on the Border Grill Truck this spring in Los Angeles, and will receive a variety of other prizes for her winning creation.
Twenty other contestants are now competing for the People's Choice Award, which will be judged by the public. The winner will receive an iPad, and of course bragging rights. Voting begins today and runs through March 15, 2011. Visit www.alaskafishtaco.com to view the recipes and vote today.
For more than 50 years, Alaska has been dedicated to sustainable seafood. It's so essential to our way of life that our Constitution has a mandate that "fish ... be utilized, developed and maintained on the sustained yield principle." The seafood industry is Alaska's largest private sector employer. As a result, Alaskans understand the need to protect the fisheries and surrounding habitats for future generations. We're proud of our leadership in sustainable management, which has led to an ever-replenishing supply of wild seafood for markets around the world.
