Baikal-based company winning state order on reproduction of valuable whitefish species

OAO Vostsibrybcentre (plc) specialized in fish farming has won a state order for reproduction of omul Coregonus autumnalis, a valuable whitefish species, in the world's largest Lake of Baikal, reports http://www.megafishnet.com/.

More specifically, the company is to release 287 million of omul larvae and 11 million of omul juveniles in the Baikal Lake. The government's investments into the project are estimated to exceed RUB37 million.
