Arkhangelsk Trawl Fleet boosting output of value added blue whiting range
Arkhangelsk Trawl Fleet plc, the largest fishing and processing combine based in Arkhangelsk region, has unveiled an ambitious plan to boost output of value added blue whiting products, reports www.fishnet-russia.com (www.fishnet.ru) with reference to the company.
According to head of the combine's production sector Anatoly Kondakov, in order to raise the output the company has repaired two machines for blue whiting dressing into backs for direct sale in the retail network and for further processing at the firm's onshore factory into dry-cured and smoked items. The machines will be installed onboard BMRT Sovetskaya Konstitutsia large trawler.
For the fish factory ATF has purchased an extra oven to smoke or dry-cure blue whiting backs. Besides, from the backs the company is planning to produce fish mince which will become the raw material for production of ready-to-eat products. Towards that end ATF has paid both for the technology and the normative documents, carried out trial operations and made a market study proving that such products do enjoy good demand with consumers.
