"Key industry representatives all present"
12th fish international closes at the Bremen Exhibition Centre "The fish industry meets in Bremen - and that held true for fish international 2010, too: Our exhibitors are satisfied, and so are the trade visitors", sums up Hans Peter Schneider, the Managing Director of Messe Bremen, after the gates closed on the 12th fish international after three days, reports www.megafishnet.com

"With an overall total of 300, there were fewer exhibitors than in previous years, and at 9,300 the number of visitors was also lower than we would have wished. But as a trade fair we represent the industry's marketplace and thus reflect the current economic situation. So it was all the more pleasing that all the key buyers were present in Bremen." Discussions at the stands were highly concentrated and the exhibitors showed themselves to be impressed by the high quality of the visitors. "I am very satisfied with the result of this year's fish international" said Renate Meiche, Category Manageress Fish Sales at Edeka Minden-Hannover. "The fair was very good for fostering contacts and all our relevant contacts were there." Meiche played a leading role in the organisation of the Special Show of the Fish Retail Trade which drew a lot of visitors at fish international 2010.

The stand of newly founded TransGourmet Seafood GmbH from Bremerhaven also met with great interest. "We were very satisfied with the crowd of visitors around our stand and with the quality of the visitors, too. We had a lot of fruitful conversations - the important industry representatives were here", said Manager Ralf Forner. "For next time, however, we would like to see the other big companies in Bremen again, too." Fernando Montero, who travelled to Bremen to present Intersmoked SL from Spain was also satisfied all round. "We had a very successful premiere at fish international", summed up Montero. "We met the buyers from all the important German grocery chains. Altogether, we carried out more than 40 very good interviews." Another newcomer in Bremen was Fokken & Müller GmbH - and they set off home for Emden in good spirits, too: "I wouldn't have thought it possible to make such good contacts here", said Manager Edzard Müller. Representatives of the Icelandic packaging producer Promens also had some interesting conversations - they were not only visited by potential business partners but also by the Icelandic Fisheries Minister. Saevaldur Gunnarsson from Promens drew a pleasing balance: "The visitors at fish international were of a very high quality. Nearly every visitor to our stand was a potential customer." The next fish international is set to take place in the Bremen Exhibition Centre from 12 to 14 February 2012.
